Gayton McKenzie, the new mayor of the Central Karoo district municipality, has already crossed things off his to-do list after making big promises in his inaugural address.
His recent attempt to ease the burden on the residents has been widely welcomed.
He recently opened a bakery that is aimed at offering affordable bread to residents.
When McKenzie, the Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader, gained power three months ago he made a number of promises, including fixing the municipality’s malfunctioning pool and do rid of potholes.

McKenzie shared images of the bakery and committed that the bread will be much cheaper for the residents.

The bakery will officially open on Monday, the students are now successful bakers, they are baking bread for charity until opening, the old age homes and shelters are enjoying warm bread daily, Tasty bread will be the freshest and cheapest, no more bread from Worcester 🙏 pic.twitter.com/7HEO0FLL7I
