Khanyi Mbau has been announced as the new Roastee of The Roast on Comedy Central.
The news of her roast have been welcomed and officially makes her the first black woman on Comedy Central to get roasted.
The media personality and actress, who was a panellist on Kenny Kunene’s 2014 roast, returns as the first black woman to be roasted.
Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela shared the news on social media.

The Comedy Central Roast of Khanyi Mbau, brought to you by Showmax, will be recorded this July.

Speaking to Tshisa Live expressed her wish that Somizi Mhlongo, a former friend, and actress Pearl Thusi, Africa’s first female roast master, would not be featured in her roast. She also said she wants President Cyril Ramaphosa as a panellist.
“To be the first black female to be roasted on Comedy Central in the world feels amazing. Do you know how many balls we’ve had on this platform? It was getting rather sweaty. Let’s put some tits on this and make it bounce. Right?”
“I would love to have cupcake. Yes, the president. Cyril on my roast. I think that’s one person that would make such an entertaining roast, with the rhinos and the McDonald’s and the trips. And he’s just so interesting. I’m loving it.”
In July, “The Comedy Central Roast of Khanyi Mbau” will be taped, and it will air in August on Showmax and Comedy Central Africa (DStv Channel 122).
