Dineo Ranaka’s estranged hubby reportedly sues over abuse allegations

Dineo Ranaka’s estranged hubby, Klaas Pesha, is reportedly suing the media personality over abuse allegations she made.

Pesha is said to be suing for damages of R500 000 over statements Ranaka made on her WhatsApp statuses and during an interview with Mac G.

According to a Sunday World report, Ranaka’s estranged husband and father of her child, claims the abuse allegations she made about him are lies.

The radio presenter spoke out about being abused just 7-months after saying “I do” to Pesha at their Tshwane home.

Pesha claims that Ranaka shared several WhatsApp statuses in October last year which painted him in a bad light.

“I would rather have a divorce decree than a premature death certificate. I cannot believe I married a man who has the FULL capability of killing me and making my death look like it’s my own doing.”

Pesha, the Managing Director of KPH Mining reportedly filed papers in the Johannesburg High Court last week. He is calling for Ranaka to withdraw the statements and apologise for the defamatory comments as they have ruined his professional reputation.

During her interview on Podcast and Chill with Mac G, Ranaka claims that Pesha once assaulted her while she was carrying their 3-month old baby.

“If that guy didn’t hit me in my marriage, then we would still be on good terms. I had my three-month-old baby in my arms the last time he hit me and I was like no, this is not how it’s going to go down. Not me who doesn’t submit to bull.

They try and threaten you to silence you. If anyone is in an abusive relationship don’t take those threats to heart. Speak about your pain, speak about your experience, talk about it, and make the abuser smaller and smaller and smaller in the capacity of how they think they are a big monster. Abusive people tend to threaten you and they have a tendency to want you to shut up about your story.”

The couple were married in 2020 and Ranaka gave birth to their daughter in July 2021. Their marriage has been riddled with allegations that Pesha had cheated on her.

Despite this Ranaka said she stayed because she intended on cheating too once she had healed from her c-section.

    • regulate, in harmony with international standards, the processing of personal information by public and private bodies in a manner that gives effect to the right to privacy subject to justifiable limitations that are aimed at protecting other rights and important interests,
    1. Definitions and Interpretation

    1.1.“Personal Information” means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person and where it is applicable, identifiable, existing juristic person, including all information as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. 

    1.2  Parliament assented to POPIA on 19 November 2013. The commencement date of section 1, Part A of Chapter 5, section 112 and section 113 was 11 April 2014. The commencement date of the other sections was 1 July 2020 (with the exception of section 110 and 114(4). The President of South Africa has proclaimed the POPI commencement date to be 1 July 2020.

     
    1.3. “Processing” means the creation, generation, communication, storage, destruction of personal information as more fully defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.  

    1.4. “You” or the “user” means any person who accesses and browses this website for any purpose. 

    1.4. “Website” means the website of the KAYA 959 at URL www.kaya959.co.za or such other URL as KAYA 959 may choose from time to time.

    3.2.5. KAYA 959 will not disclose any personal information relating to you to any third party unless your prior written agreement is obtained or KAYA 959 is required to do so by law. 

    3.2.6. If personal information is released with your consent KAYA 959 will retain a record of the information released, the third party to which it was released, the reason for the release and the date of release, for a period of 1 (one) year from the date on which it was last used. 

    3.2.7. KAYA 959 will destroy or delete any personal information that is no longer needed by KAYA 959 for the purpose it was initially collected, or subsequently processed. 

    3.3. Note that, as permitted by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, KAYA 959 may use personal information collected to compile profiles for statistical purposes.
