DJ Sbu has apologised to former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel for comments made by guest JJ Tabane on an episode of his podcast.
On 15 April, DJ Sbu feature Tabane on his YouTube podcast, Hustler’s Corner, during which it was alleged that Manuel was behind the formation of the political party COPE.
An allegation Manuel has vehemently denied and he sought to pursue a R100 000 defamation case against both DJ Sbu and JJ Tabane.
Trevor Manuel has also demanded that Tabane issue an unconditional apology to him like DJ Sbu has done, but it is reported that Tabane is refusing to retract and will be opposing the motion.
Sharing his apology on his social media platforms, DJ Sbu said, “The allegations made by Mr Tabane have not been substantiated or independently verified by us The Hustlers Corner as a podcast and these allegations were vehemently denied by Mr Trevor Manuel. The Hustler’s Corner unconditionally apologises to Mr Trevor Manuel for the publication of these allegations.”
