The EFF march in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, reiterates the country’s call for justice of the latest GBV victim, Namhla Mtwa.
Leading the march is the party’s DSG Poppy Mailola, calling for the Mthatha Police Station to make an arrest for her brutal murder.
Namhla was shot 9 times outside her Mthatha home on 21 April, and her family are convinced she was a victim of gender-based violence.
Images of the 35-year old, OR Tambo municipal worker battered and bruised, sparked outrage as many are convinced she died at the hands of her abusive partner.
Namhla’s partner, Eastern Cape businessman Major Mfesane Bhekizulu, has denied that he is behind the murder of his girlfriend of 17-years.

The hashtag #JusticeForNamhla has been trending since Monday, 23 May, with women throughout the country using their voices calling for the perpetrator to be brought to book.
A number of women’s rights organisations have joined the EFF march and say they will not rest until Major Bhekizulu is arrested.
According to reports, Bhekizulu was arrested in 2018 for allegedly shooting and killing an employee and injuring one other.
