You’ve probably heard “Mercury retrograde” being thrown around a lot lately, and you may or may not know what it entails.
The interstellar phenomenon happens four times a year and usually last a few weeks. Mercury will be in retrograde until 2 June, having entered the second course on 10 May.
What this means is that the planet Mercury is orbiting in reverse and is said to bring tremendous disarray to relationships, communication and severely affecting the zodiac moods.
Mercury is known as the planet of communication, and during its retrograde period, people are reported to feel stressed, frustrated and impulsive.
Astrologists generally advise people not to make any rash decisions on the love front until the retrograde is over. This is because during this time tumultuous relationships from the past and present can cause major conflict.
Blast from the past
Because the directional pull of Mercury during this period is in reverse, the retrograde tends to bring back people from the past. It also forces people who are not serving a purpose in your life at present out of the picture.
So, if someone has ghosted you, it’s probably just the retrograde removing bad energy from your life.
Psychics say that because the retrograde occurs under Gemini’s rule, relationships can go through a chaotic phase until it’s passed.
People are more open to explore their fantasies, act impulsively and cheat or make a decision to leave their relationships due to unhappiness.
If you have been having endless arguments with your partner this month, it could be due to Mercury forcing you to focus on the areas in your love life that isn’t working.
5 ways Mercury retrograde affects your relationships

- Texts may be misinterpreted

The next retrograde will be between September 9 to October 1.
