The restoration only happened around 20h00 on Sunday which meant all customers were left strapped for cash on Mother’s Day.
While the outage has been ruled as a once-off incident, some customers shared they were having difficulties with transactions from Thursday, 5 May.

However, the bank has assured clients that an investigation will be underway to ensure that this does not happen again.
@StandardBankZA on such a critical day such as today, your banking is offline and one canmpt do payments. Its been out for over an hour. When do you plan to communicate the outage to your customers?
