Heavy K has set the record straight about claims made by podcaster Mac G on Podcast and Chill about Black Coffee’s Grammy Award-winning album.
After MacG said he called Black Coffee’s Grammy-winning album Subconsciously “pap,” Heavy K has given his side of the story.
He has made it clear what he said in the interview when asked to select between Black Coffee’s past sound and what he is doing now on Podcast and Chill with MacG
Heavy K says he appreciated Black Coffee, but stated that he preferred his former sound because it was what drove him to pursue a career as a music producer.

Heavy K was responding to what was said about him in the podcast and shared a clip of his actual words, where he said, “The old Black Coffee is one that inspired me. I can say that the new Coffee, is a very smart grootman. He calculates everything. There are places that he has been to that I have not been to. Maybe he has seen doors for him to explore, but for me it will always be that old sound.”
