Will Smith has reacted to the Academy’s decision to block him from attending events for the next ten years.
Smith’s response comes after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that it was banning him from all of the organization’s events for 10 years for attacking Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

The Academy said Friday explained their 10-year ban on Friday in a statement that reads:
“The Board of Governors has decided, for a period of 10 years, from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,”
“We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast.”
Will Smith who has previously announced that he is resigning from the Academy, apologised to both Academy and Chris Rock simply made a brief statement following the academy’s decision on Friday,
“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” he said in a brief statement.
