Rihanna is having a good year it seems, as she’s just made her debut on the Forbes list of billionaires. The heavily pregnant Fenty beauty mogul’s $1.7 billion fortune makes her the highest ranked female artist.
Making the list in August, the Rude Boy hitmaker’s wealth comes with the success of her Fenty businesses which has a lingerie line and cosmetics range.
At just 34-years old, Riri’s beauty brand is estimated to be worth $1.4 billion itself.
The Barbados beauty is ranked 1,729 on the Forbes list and whilst the accomplishment is impressive, Rihanna is said to be frightened by her billionaire status.
Speaking to Rachel Lindsay in an interview in September last year, Rihanna said she doesn’t want to be up on a pedestal and would much rather her feet be on the ground.
“It’s scary,” she said. “I do think about it all the time. I make it a point to think about it, because I get scared when, you know, the pedestal comes into play and we’ll put you up there and they keep wanting to put you up there… I’m like, ‘No, I want to be on the ground.’ I want to feel my feet on the ground because I know it’s not going to be a fall at all if anything, right?… I don’t want to be this icon. I want to remember who I am.”
Rihanna on her $1.7 billion fortune
Joining Rihanna on the list is Kanye West with a net worth of $2 billion. Despite the controversy surrounding the end of his marriage to Kim Kardashian, Ye’s sneaker and clothing brand boosted his profits since 2020.
Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian also made the Forbes list with an estimate net worth of $1.8 billion.
Ye ranks higher than Jay Z whose wealth plummeted by $6 million to $1.3 billion last year.
