We’re sure you’d agree, the #21daysoflockdown has many South Africans feeling out of sorts. With a complete 360 in daily routines, entertainment options and a lifestyle reshuffle, it is not what we’re used to. This goes without saying for the rest of the world in this dire time too.

We wanted to bring you a bit of musical reprieve and cultural upliftment during this desperate of circumstances, to unite not only South Africans via one rhythm but the world. With yet another Kaya exclusive, we pushed boundaries and channeled the musical prowess of some world renowned artists. From New York, Louie Vega, Brazil, DJ Nyack and back home with DJ Kenzhero, Tha Muzik and Just Themba.

It was a welcome dose of fun, laughter, good music and good friends. Although, mostly unable to enjoy the party with our usual party people, many of the Obrigado SA following, chose a digital route to connect and unite on the day. On Saturday, the 4th April 2020, for 5-hours of uninterrupted soul-stirring, international and proudly African beats hit your core. It was a musical explosion if ever there was one.

All in-house DJ’s and crew, took extra precautionary measures to ensure their health and safety to bring a world-class marathon of culturally moving music.

It went down a treat across all the Kaya platforms, including Kaya TV and the Kaya App on Android and iOS, which both had dedicated livestreams running to reach the growing Obrigado SA fan-base.
Viewers and listeners shared their love of the live party with videos and pictures on social media which only heightened the experience.
