He took to Twitter to publicly declare his challenge to the Russian leader.
“I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine,” Musk tweeted Monday morning, with Putin’s name and Ukraine written in Cyrillic script, a writing system used by Russia and Ukraine for their national languages.
He then wrote a follow-up Tweet in Russian where he tagged Vladimir Putin’s official account asking, “Do you agree to this fight?”

There has been mixed reaction to Musk’s tweets, with many questioning his true intentions.
Musk has made it crystal clear that he stands with Ukraine in the conflict.
Earlier this month his satellite internet company, Starlink deployed satellites to beam broadband internet access over Ukraine amid the conflict.
He was also publicly thanked by Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who said he was in communication with him for further assistance as the conflict unfolded.
