As if being ordered by the court to cough up R300 000 in damages is not a big enough punishment for Rea Gopane, the YouTuber keeps digging an even bigger hole for himself.
Earlier in the week, he teased a song that he says is about Bonang on his social media. In his lyrics, he insinuates that Bonang stooped low with the lawsuit.
In January this year, Bonang announced on social media that she had won the lawsuit against Rea. Bonang also insinuated that the podcaster could not afford the full amount and would be paying her in installments over a 30-year period.
This comes after Rea alleged in one of his podcasts that Bonang introduced AKA to drugs.
Bonang’s legal team instructed Rea to retract the statement, issue a written and video apology to her on social media, and pay R500k for bringing disrepute to her name.
In his video apology to Bonang, Rea said he was deeply regretful for his words.
“As stated in my previous retraction and apology to Miss Bonang Matheba, I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone who was mentioned in the podcast on the 9th of May 2021. I am deeply regretful of what I said and I now realise the harm that podcast could cause.”
With the way he’s been behaving lately one wonders If Rea actually learned his lesson. If he continues like this then things could go from bad to worse for him.
