Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates has opened up about the various factors that contributed and led to her divorce with Bill Gates.
After 27 years of marriage, Melinda French Gates and Bill Gates announced their divorce in May 2021.
It was reported that Melinda had been seeking a divorce since 2019. This came after it was revealed that Bill Gates had ties to convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein.
There were also reports that described Bill having sexual affairs with a female employee during his time as the CEO of Microsoft.
Although their divorce was finalized in August 2021, Melinda French Gates has now decided to break her silence about her marriage and the revelations that led to the divorce.
During a conversation with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Melinda explains that her divorce was not caused by one isolated event, instead there were various factors and events that led to her divorce.
“It wasn’t one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn’t healthy. I couldn’t trust what we had,” Melinda said.
She also noted that Bill’s relationship with Jeffery Epstein contributed to her divorce. Describing Epstein as “evil personified’, Melinda makes it clear that she did not like the fact that Bill had meetings with Jeffery Epstein, nor did she approve of the relationship they had.
“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffery Epstein, no. I made that clear to him”
Melinda tells King that she met Epstein one time, and that she regretted the encounter immediately.
“I wanted to see who this man was and I regretted it from the second I stepped in the door… He was abhorrent, evil personified. I had nightmares about it afterwards…”, the Billionaire Philanthropist said.
Melinda tells Gayle King that her heart breaks for the young women who suffered abuse at the hands of Jeffery Epstein.
The Philanthropist Billionaire makes it clear that they’re not friends however they are maintaining a working relationship.
