He recently spoke to Phemelo Motene on Point of View about this groundbreaking documentary.
Freeman explained what drew him to these stories when he heard about the idea.
“I don’t think I have that much interest in the life of prisoners, but when we came up with the idea of the Greatest prison escapes it was such a grabber, and of course.
“I have seen all of the movies that were made bout prison escapes.”
“It’s a fascinating subject if you think that people who were locked away for so many years, determine that they will not stay in a place that was built to hold them, and how they proved that they could get away is fascinating,” says Freeman.
