The coronation ceremony of the AmaZulu King, Misuzulu kaZwelithini, can proceed as planned. This after the Pietermaritzburg High Court ruled that all claims against the future King should be dismissed.
While Judge Isaac Madondo ruled in favour of the coronation of the AmaZulu heir, the matter of King Goodwill Zwelithini’s will will still need to be investigated.
The AmaZulu Royal family is divided over the contentious issue of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini’s will.
With King Misuzulu KaZwelithini named successor to the monarch last year, the late King’s first wife Queen Sibongile, is questioning the validity of King Zwelithini’s will.
Together with her two daughters AmaZulu Princess Ntandoyenkosi and Princess Ntombizosuthu Zulu-Duma, the Queen called for King Misuzulu’s coronation ceremony to not go ahead.
Prince Mbonisi Zulu filed an application to stop his nephew, Misuzulu kaZwelithini, from being crowned King.
King Misuzulu was supposed to be crowned in a ceremony late last year.
A date for the King’s coronation ceremony has yet to be set.
