When it happens you instantly get ‘chest pains’, the experience instantly becomes a painful ordeal.

You feel rejected and are left with a broken heart.

According to Forbes Health, there are numerous studies that show that the brain deals with rejection in a similar way as physical pain.
This leads to many who go through this experience, finding ways to cope by numbing their pain in an unhealthy way.

One listener shared how he got mixed signals and got hurt. He said he recalled the classic line, ‘It is not you, it is me’ countless times and to this day he doesn’t know what he did wrong.
