Police Minister, Bheki Cele, is expected to wrap up his Safer Season Inspection Tour in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.
Cele, accompanied by a high-level SAPS delegation, travelled to each province over the last week.
He ensured that all police operations were stepped up for the festive season.
With only two days to go before Christmas Day, Cele called on shoppers and holidaymakers to be extra vigilant.
Many families will be rushing around this festive season to get their last minute shopping done. However, due to the busy nature of shopping centres at this time, do remember to keep a watchful eye on your children

Addressing the Upington community, Cele said police have been directed to approach this period with caution and agility.
Cele said that outsmarting criminals will require a lot of work. He urged police to use their intelligence collection wisely.
“The increased deployment of personnel and police visibility must be heightened. I am glad that I have seen the respective operational plans by provinces to curtail aggravated robberies such as cash heists, carjackings and home and business robberies,” he said.
Cele said police will do their best to protect communities. However, he says while police are out in full force, it was up to the community to play its part.
“Don’t allow yourself to be easy targets for criminals. These thugs know you have extra cash and you are excited to be off work and with your loved ones – but don’t let that excitement end in disappointment. Be proactive in your safety and don’t be sitting ducks,” Cele concluded.
