On Wednesday, American rapper Young Dolph (36) was shot dead in his hometown outside a cookie shop near Memphis International airport.
News reports of a shooting near the shop started circulating on social media hours before the rapper’s death was confirmed.
Witnesses said that an unidentified individual drove past the shop and shot the rapper. Dolph was there to buy cookies.
The rapper was in town for the week to visit his aunt, who had cancer and give back to the community. He was fond of the place as he represented it with pride through his music and social media.
Young Dolph was born in Chicago on July 27, 1985, before relocating to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family. His wife and two children survive him.

In September 2017, Dolph was shot outside a retail store in LA. His condition was critical, but hours later, doctors said that he would survive. He spent the next two weeks in hospital to recover from the three gunshot wounds.
