The Kaya 959 Soul Inspired concert supported by SPAR returns with a fresh and exciting line-up of the biggest Gospel stars in South Africa.
It is all happening on Sunday 5 December.
Included as part of the lineup, is the talented gospel artist Thinah Zungu.
Early years
Thinah was born in Inanda, KwaZulu Natal.
He is the youngest of three boys.
He attended Othando Primary School and Sthabile High School which he completed in 2006.
After school he turned his focus towards gospel music.
Career
In 2007 Thinah worked alongside Phulani Hadeb to release his first album, Enkazimulweni.
The album was a success and motivated him to release his second album Kuthe Bekwazi in 2009.
The gospel artist travelled all across the country, preaching the gospel through worship.
His song, Kuthe Bekwazi, was a huge hit amongst gospel fans and increased the singer’s stardom.
Mentorship
Joe Gcabashe of Summertime Music Productions believed in Thinah’s gift.
Gcabashe took Thinah under his wing.
This is where he truly cultivated his craft and learned the ropes of the music industry in South Africa
Kwanqab’umusa sells over 25 000 copies
In 2011 he released the album, Kwanqab’umusa.
The album sold over 25000 copies and won Zungu the best songwriter award at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards in 2012.
This is something he doesn’t take for granted.
“I never leave the stage without singing Kwanqab’umusa because it is a reflection of who I am and what God has done and keeps on doing in my life.”
This year’s Soul Inspired concert starts at 12pm on Sunday 5 December and all fans are invited to stream it live.
