“Looking at your life, how many things do you have but don’t use? Why do we keep buying these items if we’re not going to use them?” Uncle T sparked the conversation on The Best T in the city this morning.
Check out some of the things we spend money on but hardly use:
Online subscriptions
We live in a time when there’s such an array of options for entertainment. There’s your Netflix, Apple TV, Apple Music, Spotify – the list is endless.
The truth is we don’t use all of them. One or two platforms should be enough to keep one entertained throughout the month.
Gym Membership
According to recent surveys, gyms sign up more members than they can accommodate. This is due to the large number of people who sign up but never show up.
We take on these memberships in the name of making good health decisions. Sadly, not everyone has the discipline to see through the commitment, hence there’s people paying for memberships they are not using.
Gym equipment
To try and avoid the monthly costs of a gym, many people opt to buy equipment to use at home – plus it’s cheaper and more convenient.
The challenge here is staying motivated while working out on your own. Most people eventually fall off the bandwagon, leaving the equipment to gather dust.
Other things that we buy but hardly ever use include cookbooks, clothing accessories and fancy kitchen appliances.
