Is Rami Chuene really a married woman? The actress made headlines a few weeks ago when she shared a picture of herself wearing a wedding dress.
“I also attended a wedding this past long weekend…” she captioned the post.
Scores of people, including Terry Pheto and Simphiwe Ngema, flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations.
“Congratulations Rami God is good all the time,” actress Lerato Mvelase commented.
But was it all for TV?
It turns out that the “wedding” could possibly have been part of a role Rami will be playing on SABC 2’s ‘Giyani: Land of Blood’.
Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, shared the wedding picture on Twitter with a caption about the show.
“Are you ready for new season of #Giyani? The first-ever scripted Xitsonga drama series since the advent of television in South Africa, Giyani Land of Blood, returns on November 1st 2021 Season 2 will air Mondays to Wednesdays at 21h30 on @SABC_2,” he tweeted.

While Phil did not explicitly say the picture was from the show, his use of the image raised a few eyebrows.
“So Rami played us,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another tweep added: “Haibo Rami so the dress was for the show. I told mom that she got married mos.”

But some are still convinced that Rami is married, despite the actress not revealing the lucky man’s identity.
“Lol she probably is married yazi. Phil just chose this pic,” one man commented.
Phil, for his part, has decided not to confirm or deny whether the picture is for the show.

Adding to the confusion is the fact that at least two celebrities implied that they attended the wedding.
“This was truly a beautiful union to witness. I’m so so happy for you ‘The Lamz’ You looked breathtaking Rami,” Dineo Langa commented.
The actress reportedly asked guests to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). “So sad I missed it, Rami! But when I heard about the NDA part… Congratulations!” The River’s creative producer, Bonga Percy Vilakazi, tweeted.
Rami, meanwhile, is remaining mum on the subject.
She is playing the role of Manoko Ledwaba on ‘Giyani’. There’ll be lots of drama, secrets, and “forbidden love”.
Viewers will just have to wait and see if Rami’s character pops up on screen in a wedding dress.
