Non-pprofit organisation (NPO) Smile Artists Africa raised over R1 million towards breast cancer survivors.
October marks breast cancer awareness month and with the pandemic causing setbacks with screenings and detection. Organisations such as Smile Artists Africa are rising together to meet the challenges breast cancer survivors face.
The organisation which was founded by Dr Brian Monaisa and Azael Langa held a Fusion Art Fashion event at the Kyalami Racetrack recently.
Smile Artists Africa raises money by selling pieces of art and host fashion shows where designer items are sold. Raising money to assist breast cancer survivors with reconstructive breast surgery, the organisation has helped many women.
This year’s event included Kaya 959 Midday Joy presenter Unathi, Robert Marawa and Melanie Bala to name a few.
It was the second Fusion Art Fashion event and last year the NPO raised R300 000 which benefited 3 breast cancer survivors.
