Renowned actress and producer, Vivica A. Fox joins Midday Joy with Unathi to share news about the gripping ‘wrong’ movies she not only features in but was executive producer on too.
Speaking to Unathi via Zoom conference, the highly acclaimed Hollywood actress and producer’s franchise of “Wrong Movie” titles will be coming to DStv, channel 131 this September.
The movies will air every Saturday and Sunday evening from 19h20 on Lifetime and Ms. Fox produced 25 of the movies and starred in 22 of them.
Talk about double-hatting! She shared with Unathi how liberating it was for her to come up with the concept for “Wrong Movie,” that it’s so wrong it’s right!
“This is something that just fell in my lap and I’m so grateful to Lifetime for giving me the opportunity to be a filmmaker. It’s a project that started 5-years ago when I was working with director David DeCoteau. I am so excited to be bringing the movies to Africa so you guys can binge and enjoy,” Vivica A. Fox shared with Unathi.

The franchise includes titles such as:
The Wrong Husband
The Wrong Mr. Right
The Wrong Mother
The Wrong Patient
The Wrong Cruise
The Wrong Mommy
The Wrong Daughter
All of which Unathi pointed is not just tongue-in-cheek but relevant as the made-for-TV thrillers follow people whose lives spin out of control after they encounter the “wrong” person.
The 57-year old American actress, producer and television host began her career on Soul Train and has since starred in a multitude of movies which include, Two Can Play That Game, Independence Day and Kill Bill Vol.1
“I love the magic of making movies, it’s just an amazing craft that you can take something from a piece of paper and produce it and get it up on screen and have people fall in love with them. I’m grateful to Lifetime for giving me these roles that Hollywood normally wouldn’t let me play. And the fact that I get to cast myself means I can challenge myself to get involved in everything from the script to the wardrobe.”
Vivica A. Fox attributes her ability to remain timeless in the movie industry by paying attention to where the opportunities lie and what works for her.
In Wrong Mr Right, Vivica shares that the message is for women to own their worth and not settle for the wrong guy just because timing isn’t on their side. Most women are so set on finding Mr Right, that one person to settle down with who will sweep in and take care of them but you have to have a plan B.
