Pap is a staple in many households in South Africa. It is eaten almost on a daily basis in African families.
But not everyone enjoys making it. To make life easier, a young engineer by the name Rea Nkhumise invented the Automatic Pap-cooker called, ‘Lobola’.
Speaking to Sowetan, 29-year-old Nkhumise said he called it lobola because he thought it would make a perfect gift for newlyweds.
“I call it Lobola because I think it will one day be the perfect gift for a couple that is getting married,” he said.
The appliance makes the pap in 15 minutes and doesn’t need stirring.

🤣😭 I'm buying the automatic pap cooker for future makoti duties. I'm happy someone understands that some of us can't do that hard labour stuff.
