Consumer journalist Wendy Knowler says some of the incidents reported when it comes to fake goods being sold to consumers is straight up food fraud. Knowler was in conversation with David O Sullivan this morning regarding the issue of fake goods after health minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi urged members of the public to notify environmental health practitioners and the police of any suspicious foodstuffs.
The ministers call comes just a week after members of the public looted shops owned by foreigners in Soweto, Ekhuruleni and in Kagiso in the Westrand. Residents accused foreign shop owners of selling expired food.
