American professional golfer, Tiger Woods sues his former mistress Rachel Uchitel for a breach of the multi-million dollar non-disclosure agreement around their torrid affair.
The former cocktail waitress became infamous in 2009 when she was named as one of the women with whom the famous golfer was involved with when his cheating scandal broke.
Tiger Woods’ marriage fell apart shortly thereafter when his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, filed for divorce after 6-years of marriage and 2 children together.
Rachel signed the 30-page long NDA in 2009 which prohibited her from talking to anyone, including media about Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods.
In exchange for her silence, she was promised $5 million and a further $1 million annually for three years to follow.
In a recent New York Times exposé, Rachel claims she did not receive $8 million and after taxes and fees to her powerhouse attorney, Gloria Allred, she only saw $2m of the original $5m.
Shortly afterwards, Rachel filed for bankruptcy having spent the $2m and the online relationship expert agreed to be interviewed about her relationship with Tiger Woods for an HBO documentary, “Tiger,” in 2019.
Once the documentary aired, Rachel heard from one of Tiger’s attorney’s Michael Holtz, who threatened to make her life hell.
She doesn’t believe she breached the NDA, nor could her interview have ruined the golfer’s reputation. Tiger Woods is regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time and he returned to the public spotlight until his car accident in February where he sustained serious injuries to his legs.
Tiger Woods is said to be proceeding with his intentions to sue Rachel.
This is a developing story.
