An emotional plea for assistance is being made by the family of an elderly Ekurhuleni woman who is still waiting for a house which was promised to her two years ago. Gogo Linah Ngubane who is 85 years old had been living in a dilapidated 4 room house in Duduza for years when the family sought help from the municipality.
The house was flooded with water and had what is being described as a sewage smell throughout the entire home.
Speaking on Breakfast with David, her granddaughter Theo says – In 2016 ANC officials and the provincial speaker Ntombi Mekgwe visited the house and made a promise to build her a new house.

In November 2016 the house was demolished and officials said the house would be built in January 2017
Theo says the empty promises have left her grandmother emotionally scarred and she wakes up every morning and goes to the empty yard to wait for the builders to come.
