It’s been a long road for Nompilo Dlamini but her journey is just beginning as she is finally in India and all set to receive her new lungs.
The young woman who touched the hearts of many South Africans after her desperate plea to raise R2 million for a lung transplant reached Cassper Nyovest.
Cassper didn’t hesitate to join the #SaveNompilo campaign and donated R150K to her GoFundMe account in July.
The 26-year old from Swaziland has just shared that she’s almost at the finish line having secured enough money to make it to India to receive the surgery.

Nompilo hopes to meet her hero, Cassper soon to thank him for everything he’s done for her fundraising campaign.
“I haven’t met Cassper yet but we chat on Twitter. He checks in on me every now and then and I update him on my progress. I’ve always been one of his obsessed fans, the love is pure.”
Nompilo Dlamini has Cystic Fibrosis and was not given much time to live without the transplant. She detailed how psychologists had been preparing her for the inevitable, talking her through how doctors will make sure she is as comfortable as possible in her final moments.
The resilient woman will finally be able to breathe without depending on oxygen tanks.
