Every once in a while it’s important to go through intense self-introspection. Peeling off the layers that you’ve created, asking yourself important questions. Exploring what makes you happy, grateful and proud; experiences that you can’t wait to have. Doing the thing that reconnects you deeper to yourself.
Here are a few ideas to get you started on your journey:
Let me be the 100th person to remind you how important it is to travel. You MUST travel if you wan to feel better. Travelling opens your eyes, teaches you who you are, shows you skill you thought you never had, gives you new perspectives, makes you more grateful and helps you reconnect with the part of yourself you forgot existed. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie says it perfectly: “I think you travel to search and you come back home to find yourself there.”
One of the best things you can do for yourself is to be a master student of learning yourself. Being an expert on the things you like, enjoy, aspire to acquire, dislike and cherish is one of the most fulfilling journeys to take. Knowledge of self is extremely important in your journey of reconnecting with yourself.
Re-evaluate your circle
The people that you hold dear are important to your well-being. You are an average of the top 5 people you spend most of your time with. Who are these people, are they in line with your energy, your spirit and do they still add the much-needed value you need. it’s important to re-evaluate your circle from time to time.
Be your soulmate
We can’t stress this enough, self-love is the most precious gift you can give to yourself. The reality is you are the most important person to yourself, this is important as only you can make your life work. The funny thing is when you are pleased with how you treat yourself the whole world can see it in you.
Ditch the concept of time
Time is an illusion, the sooner you grasp this concept the better. The most real concept to adopt is being fully present in every moment. Every moment that will follow is always determined by how present you are. In your journey of reconnecting with yourself, appreciate this gift called the present, savor it, bask in its glory.
Dance, Sing and Smile
Being in a state of good vibration is the most blissful feeling many chase in different ways, this is when they feel the happiest and are aligned with their truest purpose. You need to go after the thing that puts you in this state. It could be playing and loudly singing along to your favorite song in your car, licking ice cream in a park, being with friends and family. Reconnecting with your true self is a beautiful journey, that will bring you closer to your destiny.
